Latest CIW Inspection
The Care Inspectorate of Wales visit all registered childminders regularly and publish their findings. My last inspection was December 2019 and I was really pleased to be awarded the highest rating in three out of four categories.

My Annual Self Assessment 2017
This is my self assessment report – have a browse for comments from parents, teachers and the kids themselves. It is written to conform to the criteria supplied by CSSIW who inspect all childcare settings. You’ll probably be surprised at the level of detail here – I was when I first started. It is a good way of reviewing the year and thinking through what I’d like to work on in the next year.

Dinosaur fun
I’ve been following the same themes as the school, so over the last few weeks we’ve been roaring, stomping, cracking eggs and following huge footprints!
We followed the dinosaur trail to find the throwing/jumping/hopping game.
We had fun smashing dinosaur eggs.
We matched shapes to make dinosaurs and then made some of our own.
And a bit of dinosaur sensory play.
Food Allergen Information
On the 13th December 2014 new EU legislation is coming into place that means all food businesses (including childminders) need to provide information about the allergenic ingredients in food.
These are the allergens to be aware of:
I will be keeping receipts of the food I serve and if you want to know which allergens are in the food then please ask me. I always keep close tabs on the food children eat in my care and have full details of any existing allergies. This will continue to be a focus of the information I find out when signing up a new child and parents will have time to look over the information released from the Food Standards Agency.

Waterbeads
These are sooo fun! They grow from tiny tiny balls to soft slippery balls just by adding water. We grew them over a morning and C had so much fun adding the water. When N came home from school we added orange beads and mixed them together then sorted them out again. Lots of hands on sensory fun!
Train and playdough invitation to play
I saw this on Pinterest and knew N would love it. Only got my two today so hope he’s got enough energy to enjoy this after school.
Toddler Groups
We’ve always loved going to St Catherine’s church toddler groups. Here it is all laid out ready – what a lot of work Trish puts in to make our mornings fab!
Foam Writing
Getting ready for school – recognising letters and mark making.
N has never been too keen on getting messy but embraced it here as long as he could wash off whenever he wanted to!
